WHEREAS
individuals of note offered special presentations, such as Stanley Heckadon-Moreno
(“Panamá: The Land and Its People”), Mariana Mould de Pease
(“Machu Picchu, Inca Heritage and Peru Today”), moderated by Victoria
Cox
WHEREAS
a number of important figures participated on interesting panels, such as
Santiago Cantón, Armando González and Pedro Nikken (“Latest
Advances in Case Law on Press Freedom”), moderated by Rafael Molina;
and Sreenath Sreenivasan, Guillermo Pérez and Guillermo Franco (“Successful
Electronic Media in Latin America and How They Do It”), moderated by
Jaime Mantilla
WHEREAS
Arthur O. Sulzberger, Jr., chairman and publisher of The New York Times, atended
the meeting as a special guest and spoke about his rich experience as a journalist
WHEREAS
the IAPA staff has done excellent work, enabling the activities of this meeting
to progress in an efficient manner
WHEREAS
the Midyear Meeting was a resounding success in every way
