WHEREAS
there was a fruitful discussion between newspaper editors and deans of journalism

WHEREAS
Peruvian economist Hernando de Soto, president of the Institute for Liberty
and Democracy, delivered the keynote address titled “New Ideas, New Realities
in Latin America”
WHEREAS
Carlos Slim, president of Grupo Carso, and Felipe González, former Prime
Minister of Spain, held a discussion titled “Globalization, Economics
and Democracy”
WHEREAS
the IAPA staff has done excellent work, making it possible for the activities
of this Assembly to progress in an efficient manner
WHEREAS
the 62nd General Assembly was a resounding success in every way
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE IAPA RESOLVES
to express, on behalf of the president, officers, Board of Directors, and members,
its deepest gratitude and appreciation to all the people and companies that
